Lenovo is preparing to launch its next compact gaming tablet in China on August 25. The Legion Y700 Infinite is already showing strong performance in benchmark testing. The company has revealed an AnTuTu score of 4,585,844 points. That puts the upcoming tablet ahead of recent average results reported for some rivals.
The device has appeared under several translated names, including Y700 Infinite and Y700 Ultimate. Lenovo has not yet confirmed the final English-market name.
The Legion Y700 Infinite is expected to use an overclocked version of Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Leading Version. Its prime cores are reportedly clocked at up to 4.74GHz, compared with 4.61GHz on the standard version. The GPU is also expected to receive a higher clock speed, which could reach 1.3GHz instead of 1.2GHz on the standard chipset.
Lenovo's reported AnTuTu result is higher than the roughly 4.16 million to 4.30 million scores recently seen from the RedMagic Astra 2 in monthly benchmark results. The figure gives the Y700 Infinite a strong performance position ahead of its launch.
The tablet will feature an 8.4-inch OLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate, according to the information shared ahead of launch. It is also expected to offer a 2.5K-class resolution.
Promotional material shows bezels measuring around 2.89mm, giving the tablet a slim front profile. A punch-hole camera will sit inside the display area, unlike the previous Y700 model that offered a more uninterrupted screen design. The tablet is also expected to measure around 6.5mm thick and weigh about 298 grams.
Battery capacity has not been officially confirmed. A recent leak points to a 7,500mAh battery with 68W wired charging.
That would represent a reduction from the 9,000mAh battery found in the current Y700. For a gaming-focused tablet, the smaller battery could limit endurance during demanding sessions. Lenovo has not announced pricing and global availability for the Y700 Infinite.
