Apple has launched the iPhone 17e in India, along with the latest iPad Air M4, expanding its affordable flagship lineup. The new model runs on Apple’s A19 chip, supports MagSafe charging, and brings satellite connectivity features at a relatively lower price. The new flagship model starts at Rs. 64,900 for the 256GB model.

What does the Display and Design Offer?

iPhone 17e sports a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display with peak brightness of up to 1,200 nits in bright outdoor conditions. Apple has equipped it with Ceramic Shield 2 protection and an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. The device comes in pink, black, and white colour options.

How Powerful is the New A19 Chip?

The handset runs on Apple’s latest A19 chipset, built on a 3nm process. It features a 6-core CPU, 4-core GPU, and a 16-core Neural Engine tuned for generative AI workloads. Apple has also introduced the C1X cellular modem, which it claims delivers up to 2x faster speeds compared to the C1 modem on the previous-generation iPhone 16e.

What Camera Upgrades are Included?

The iPhone 17e houses a single 48MP rear Fusion camera. Apple says the sensor enables optical-quality 2x telephoto zoom, effectively offering a 2-in-1 camera system. It supports 24MP default image capture, Night mode, next-generation Portrait mode with adjustable focus, Smart HDR, and 4K Dolby Vision recording at up to 60fps.

The device offers satellite-based capabilities, including Emergency SOS and Roadside Assistance. It also features satellite-based Messages and Find My functions that allow users to connect when cellular and Wi-Fi services are unavailable.

What is the Price for Indian Customers?
