Instagram Introduces Message Request Filters in DMs for Content Creators

Instagram has launched a new function created to enhance the messaging service for users and content providers. With this feature, a creator can now sort and search for DM message requests according to the type of account. In the process creators can easily find verified, businesses and other creators’ messages. This new feature was announced by the head of Instagram Adam Mosseri while he noted that Instagram wants to cut down the sort of creator DM dump they often receive.

The new filtering options allow creators to view their DM requests based on two main categories: “Recent” and “Number of Followers.” In addition they can filter requests to view only those from verified accounts, other creators, businesses, or subscribers. This feature is expected to help make the DM management simpler and to let the creators not to lose essential messages for their brand or content.

Instgram new changes to the inbox are among the series of new improvements the company has been introducing to boost engagement. In addition to the DM filtering, there is a new feature called the Story Replies folder – the replies to stories are now organized in that folder. This way, creators can be active in communicating with the audience, while not losing any interactions.

Other new features to be added to Instagram includes the profile cards that is, a profile card widget and the song-on-profile that is a song that a user takes to the account to let other users know something about him/her. These innovations derive from Instagram’s focus on increasing user opportunities for personalization and interaction with other users on the website.

Due to increasing competition in social media marketing, new features of Instagram highlight the platform to creators and businesses, who are targeting professional and systematic, attractive, and personalized interactions.
