Instagram is bringing an AI assistant to its Edits video app. In recent times, creating Instagram Reels doesn’t only require a camera; instead, it requires a proper understanding of what the audience wants and the current trends. Here, Meta introduced Instagram's AI video assistant, which will be available through the Edits section and will analyze views, likes, shares, follows, and video retention.

The tool can look at how a creator’s Reels are doing and explain the numbers in a simple way. Creators can also ask why one Reel did better than another. The idea is to make it easier to understand what is working without going through every number manually.

The AI tools can act as an assistant and suggest content ideas, hooks, captions, trending audio, and video scripts. The suggestions are linked to a creator’s own content and results. This means the tool is not simply giving the same advice to every creator. It uses past performance to shape its suggestions.

The new tool brings video data and content planning closer together. A creator may know that one Reel got more views than another but may not know why. The newly released standalone AI assistant can look at different numbers and help spot possible patterns.

This can also make content planning easier for creators, especially the newer ones. Instead of checking views, likes, and retention one by one, creators can ask the assistant to look at their results and suggest what they could try next.

Limited Free Use Could Lead To Paid Access

The AI assistant will have limited free use. Creators who need more access may have to use Meta One. The service is also set to bring Edits Plus and other creator features into Meta One, giving the new AI tool a clear link to Meta’s paid plans.

This gives Meta a new way to build paid features around Edits. The app started as a video editing tool, but it is now doing more. It can help creators edit videos, check results, find ideas, and plan future posts. For Instagram users, the focus is now also on understanding what people watch and using that information to plan the next Reel.
