In a significant move, Elon Musk has canceled his Netflix subscription. According to the latest news and tweets, the Tesla CEO has expressed his concerns about inappropriate content reaching children through Netflix.

Musk’s Netflix subscription cancellation isn’t a random decision. It stems from a controversy involving Hamish Steele, the creator of Netflix's animated series Dead End: Paranormal Park. The dispute began after the creator allegedly mocked the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

Elon Musk's Stance on Netflix Subscription

Recently, on X (formerly Twitter), Steele’s controversial remarks have dragged Netflix into trouble. While Steele’s work has been under scrutiny for including transgender themes in a children's show, the criticism heightened after screenshots of the creator calling right-wing activist Charlie Kirk a ‘Nazi’ went viral.

On Twitter,  renowned personalities rose in voice against him, but the Tesla CEO confirmed that he has canceled his Netflix subscription as a protest to this controversial comment. Even Musk asked parents to, “Cancel Netflix for the health of your kids.”

Elon Musk further agreed with an X user’s criticism of Netflix for working with a person who “celebrated the murder of Charlie Kirk" and produced content promoting a “pro-trans agenda” for children.

Surprisingly, Matt Van Swol, a former nuclear scientist at the Department of Energy, is reportedly involved in these. Reports indicate he pushed the entertainment platform to show pro-trans content in a children's series.

Netflix Faces Backlash and Subscription Cancellations

The controversy brought a wave of Netflix subscription cancellations in its wake.  According to the critics, Steele's comments, along with LGBTQ+ themes in the show, make it inappropriate for viewing by children.

The backlash gained weight when screenshots from Steele's social media posts went viral, where he called Kirk a 'Nazi' following his death.

However, Steele denied all these allegations, including his celebration of Kirk's death. Still, his portrayal of  LGBTQ+ characters in children's programming has been facing severe criticisms from regular users and renowned entities.
