Dubai has taken a big step to speed up its digital economy. Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has launched three major AI projects: an AI platform, a government taskforce, and a startup support plan. This move aims to make Dubai a top global hub for technology and innovation.
During a crucial meeting of the Higher Committee for Future Technology Development and the Digital Economy, Sheikh Hamdan approved these new projects. They are designed to bring more innovation into Dubai’s public services, support startups, and strengthen smart governance across all sectors.
The first project is the AI Infrastructure Empowerment Platform. It gives government departments access to a secure and advanced digital system where they can use ready-made AI tools. This helps improve their work, lower costs, and protect data. The platform will also speed up how AI is used in daily operations, helping Dubai move faster toward a completely smart city.
The second project is the Dubai AI Acceleration Taskforce. This team will link various government sectors to communicate concepts and develop mutual AI plans. The taskforce will assist in making quicker and wiser decisions throughout the units. It was formed after discussing with Chief AI Officers from 27 government bodies, who discussed the best ways to use AI effectively in Dubai’s growth plans.
The third project is the Unicorn 30 Programme, run by the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy. It supports 30 promising startups to help them become billion-dollar companies. Approximately 80 local and international firms are taking part. The programme focuses on funding, business growth, and global expansion, giving startups a strong base in Dubai’s digital economy.
Sheikh Hamdan said these projects follow the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33), which focuses on making Dubai one of the world’s fastest and smartest cities through knowledge, technology, and innovation. He added that Dubai wants to build a digital economy that benefits people, businesses, and society as a whole.
The meeting also discussed GITEX Global 2026, which will take place at Expo City Dubai. The event will showcase the latest technologies and strengthen Dubai’s role as a world leader in digital innovation.
With these steps, Dubai is not just preparing for the future; the city is building it. The AI platform, taskforce, and startup programme together form the foundation of a smarter, faster, and stronger digital economy. Dubai’s message is clear: it wants to lead the world in AI and digital transformation.
