Capcom has released a major update for Dragon's Dogma 2, bringing one of the biggest changes since the game's launch. According to the game director, Kento Kinoshita, the game will get a 60fps patch on PlayStation and Xbox consoles as part of the Title Update coming at the end of August.
Additionally, the studio confirmed that the game will get a Hard Mode, along with bug fixes. The Hard Mode will add a new difficulty level in the game, presenting new challenges to players who have reached the level cap.
The game is currently preparing for the Dark Arisen expansion, and will launch in October. In a recent interview, the producer Naoto Oyama mentioned, “As one indicator of this, we have tuned the game to run at 60 FPS in Performance Mode on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.”
He further added, “We'll also be revising the minimum and recommended system requirements for PC, so please stay tuned for further details.” DLC is expected to add a new story to the base game, along with a new map region, deeper customisation options, fresh challenges, and more.
The new Title Update 3.2 adds a Performance Mode that targets 60 FPS, giving players a smoother experience during combat and exploration. Along with better performance, the update also introduces Hard Mode, new gameplay changes, and several bug fixes.
Console players have been asking for a stable high-frame-rate mode for a long time. Many felt that the game's action looked great but did not always run as smoothly as expected. The upcoming changes will probably change that. Combat will probably feel more responsive, movement will look smoother, and exploring the world will be more enjoyable. While the frame rate may still change in some heavy scenes, players are already calling it a big improvement over the launch version.
This update is more than a simple patch, it improves performance, adds a tougher game mode, and fixes many issues that players have reported over the past few months. For returning players, it is a good reason to start a new adventure. For newcomers, Dragon's Dogma 2 now offers a smoother and more polished experience than before.
