With more than 300 playable wrestlers, WWE 2K25's roster has the most wrestlers of any game in the franchise's history. This figure encompasses current RAW, SmackDown, and NXT roster players as well as historical figures and original works from the Visual Concepts development team.
Though his real-life son, Lexis King, is one of more than 30 new wrestlers in WWE 2K25's base game roster, Brian Pillman himself is notably absent. A former tag team partner and rival of Stone Cold Steve Austin, Pillman tragically died of a heart attack in 1997 at the age of 35 while under contract with WWE.
A line of Cole's in-ring commentary identifies King as the son of a WWE Hall of Fame member, as Reddit user Sad-Ladder7534 noted.
In particular, WWE fans may recall Pillman for his bitter rivalry with Austin and his association with The Hart Foundation in the mid-1990s. Pillman started his wrestling career with WCW in 1989 and formed The Hollywood Blonds with Austin in 1993.
