ChatGPT users faced errors while creating or interacting with Space Pages, with OpenAI confirming a service disruption affecting the feature. The issue prevented some users from working with Pages and also affected associated tools and live Page sessions.
OpenAI listed the incident on its status page on September 30, 2026. The company initially identified elevated errors affecting Space Pages and said it was working on a mitigation. The disruption was limited to the affected component rather than representing a complete ChatGPT outage.
According to OpenAI's incident updates, the company applied a mitigation after identifying the problem. It then moved the incident into monitoring while checking whether the service had returned to normal.
OpenAI later reported that the impacted services had recovered. However, the company continued monitoring the platform for any recurrence. Its latest incident update again stated that mitigations had been applied and recovery was being monitored.
The status page currently categorises the incident as Monitoring, indicating that OpenAI has addressed the immediate service problem but continues to track performance.
The disruption specifically affected users trying to create or interact with Pages. OpenAI also reported failures involving Page tools and connections to live Page sessions. This meant that users relying on these functions could encounter errors even when other ChatGPT capabilities remained accessible.
OpenAI's status history shows that the Space Pages incident followed several other service issues around September 29 and 30, including elevated errors across ChatGPT, Codex and the API, as well as separate issues affecting some ChatGPT subscription users.
For users still encountering problems with Space Pages, OpenAI's status page remains the primary source for updates. The company has not indicated that users need to take any specific action while monitoring continues.
