Apple’s Senior Vice President of Hardware Technologies, Johny Srouji, is reportedly considering a departure. According to a Bloomberg report cited by Business Today, Srouji has informed Tim Cook that he is considering leaving Apple. However, the details of his future plans remain scarce.
Johny joined Apple in 2008. After his promotion to the current position in 2015, he has been an influential figure at the tech firm. The potential departure would add his name to the growing number of high-profile exits from the company.
Srouji’s reported plans come not long after a spate of senior-level departures at Apple, including the design chief Alan Dye, AI head John Giannandrea, and environmental policy lead Lisa Jackson. The cluster of exits is a surefire signal of unrest at the leadership level in this critical transition period for the company.
According to a Bloomberg report, Tim Cook is actively working to retain Srouji. He is offering him a lucrative compensation package with a much wider scope, possibly elevating him to Chief Technology Officer. However, such a move may have to wait after Cook reportedly decides to retire.
