Apple has released watchOS 27.2, the first major update to watchOS 27, bringing new Siri AI capabilities, support for additional languages, faster responses, and security updates for compatible Apple Watch models.
Released on October 26, 2026, the update allows Siri to retain useful context from previous interactions and draw on a wider range of personal information to provide more relevant responses. The release also includes bug fixes and other improvements.
According to Apple’s release notes, Siri AI can now recall past conversations, letting users ask follow-up questions about information they provided earlier. For instance, users can ask Siri about restaurants it recommended the previous week.
The update also expands the sources Siri can use to answer queries. These include photos attached to Messages, Calendar event attendees, and voicemails. Siri can also provide better results using Safari history and the Reading List from a connected iPhone.
Apple introduced an Excluded Apps setting that lets users choose which apps Siri, Search, and suggestions can access. The setting is available in one place on the iPhone.
With watchOS 27.2, Siri AI is available in French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish, extending language support beyond its earlier availability.
However, Apple has clarified that Siri AI is not available in the European Union or mainland China.
The company has also improved Siri’s response speed on Apple Watch, making interactions faster. These changes are part of Apple’s broader effort to enhance its AI assistant across devices.

Users can download watchOS 27.2 directly through the Settings app on their Apple Watch or through the Apple Watch app on a connected iPhone.
To install the update, the watch must be connected to its charger and have more than 50 percent battery remaining.
The release also includes security updates and bug fixes, making it relevant for users who want to keep their devices up to date with Apple’s latest software improvements.
