Apple launched the iPhone Duo, its first foldable iPhone, in India at Rs. 2,99,900. The device brings a 7.6-inch inner display and an A20 Pro chip. Apple unveiled the foldable smartphone on September 10, 2026, targeting the premium segment.
Indian pre-orders open October 16 at 5:30 pm IST, with sales starting October 23. The book-style design switches between a 5.4-inch outer screen and a larger foldable display.
The iPhone Duo combines familiar iPhone features with a foldable design built for multitasking and media. Apple uses a titanium frame, precision hinge and Ceramic Shield protection for durability.
The device runs iOS 27 with a redesigned interface for the larger screen. Apple also adds Split View, allowing two apps to run side by side on the inner display.
The 7.6-inch Super Retina XDR display marks the biggest screen on an iPhone. It supports ProMotion, Always-On functionality and up to 3,000 nits of outdoor brightness. A nano-texture finish reduces glare and helps make the fold crease less distracting during use.
Performance comes from Apple's A20 Pro chip, paired with a custom vapor chamber for sustained workloads. Apple claims the processor delivers stronger CPU and GPU performance than the previous generation. The chip also supports Apple Intelligence and the newer Siri AI experience.
Photography gets a dual 48MP Fusion camera system with Main and Ultra Wide sensors. Duo Preview uses the outer screen to show subjects a live camera view during rear-camera shots. The main camera also supports Dolby Vision video recording at up to 4K and 120fps.
Apple uses two batteries across the foldable body to support longer usage. The company rates video playback at up to 31 hours with the inner display. Outer-display use can reach up to 44 hours, according to Apple's India store.
In India, the iPhone Duo starts at Rs. 2,99,900 for 256GB storage. The 512GB model costs Rs. 3,24,900, while 1TB and 2TB versions cost Rs. 3,74,900 and Rs. 4,49,900. Star White and Night Sky remain the available color options
The iPhone Duo enters India as a luxury foldable rather than a mainstream upgrade. Its combination of a large display, A20 Pro chip, and iOS features gives Apple a new position in the foldable market.
