Walken's first year has been absolutely special for us as we built and developed the project to come to the forefront of sustainable play-to-earn. Over this transformative time, we've also gone to great lengths to explore the potential of casual gaming powered by web3, and how this combination may not only prove to be a fun and rewarding experience but also the future of web3 gaming, balancing the flaws of the classic hybrid-casual gaming and boosting asset and progress utility to new highs. In the meantime we welcomed over 3.5M registered players and grew a fantastic Community whose support and faith are both a privilege and the driving force behind the outgoing development as Walken continues to mature into its next stage – the gaming ecosystem called the Cuze. Today we are excited to introduce the Cuze and shed some light on what we'll be focused on as the team in the upcoming months.
We all love casual games, the positive emotions, sense of progression, and stress-reducing experience they provide without taking much time and effort to master them. Yet it is their simple addictive gameplay that turns out to be a double-edged sword: while providing escape and an easy way to pass time and wind down, the gameplay quickly becomes repetitive and eventually you just quit and look for a fresher adventure (to follow its lead some weeks later, at best). The Cuze aims to break this vicious cycle in a meaningful and sustainable way: by expanding players' opportunities and inviting more game creators from web2 to web3, empowering both creators and players to leverage the web3 earning potential.
The Cuze is a Walken-centric ecosystem of casual games powered by web3. You might have already got an idea in Walken Runner, our first ecosystem game. Just like there, the Cuze will unite different hybrid-casual games with their own soft-currencies by shared NFT and progress utility across the ecosystem and the one governance and utility ecosystem token – $WLKN. That is, apart from boosted monetization of your gaming skills, you'll have tons of diverse experiences, beautifully designed, ultimately entertaining, and all in one place.
From a developer perspective, the Cuze is a gaming infrastructure, on which our Walken-centric ecosystem is built. The Cuze will provide best practices, guidance, and support on every level, from web3 interaction to in-game balance and tokenomics, to the talented teams out there looking to contribute to the sustainable web3 gaming. Together we'll be able to create and launch more games, growing the community and ecosystem, and further diversifying player experience.
At this point you may wonder how Walken continues to evolve and what place it takes in the ecosystem. As we mentioned above, the Cuze is Walken-centric. Players engage in a diverse array of puzzle games across the ecosystem, unlike ever before, progressing, reusing and accumulating ecosystem assets along the way. And while these assets can be used to perform important actions within the whole ecosystem, their real-world value is discovered in Walken. There the full potential of partial reuse of NFTs and player progress unlocks, maximizing the benefit from time spent playing.
We'd like to stress that the liquidity of the assets will come from the treasury generated by the genuine activity of the players to a great extent (including ad views, part of the revenue from which will be redistributed among players as rewards).
