During that time, he has dealt with intricate business issues for Fortune 500 banks, insurance companies, and mortgage companies. Some of these problems include credit risk underwriting, building chatbots and email bots, managing customer churn, fraud modeling, cross-sell strategies, customer segmentation, and more.

Before joining JP Morgan Chase & Co., Vijay worked 3 years as a Principal Data Scientist in the AI team at HDFC Life and another 3 years in the Quantitative Risk Management team at Ocwen Financial Corporation. During his tenure, he led a group of Data Scientists, collaborated with top researchers, and contributed to pioneering research and innovation in the realm of Data Science and AI/ML. In addition, Vijay was invited as a speaker at DEVUP and Tech Meet-up, an internal JPMC conference that aims to bring selected data scientists and engineers to the firm to brainstorm and ideate for complex engineering and data science problems that may arise in the future or today. He received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Electrical Engineering from IIT Madras, India's top engineering institute. Vijay minored in Management Studies. And in his leisure time, he also enjoys reading, traveling, and driving.

Vijay is deeply passionate about solving complex business problems in the fields of banking, insurance, and mortgage sectors with the application of AI/Ml. He focuses on innovating in areas such as NLP, Speech Analytics, and Vision AI, to improve accuracy, and efficiency, and provide actionable insights. Vijay's noteworthy achievements include the creation of a customer segmentation model in the insurance field, developing a recommendation engine for suggesting insurance plans to customers, leading the development of an email bot for identifying customer intentions and performing sentiment analysis, creating a successful customer service ChatBot named 'Etty' serving millions of users, and building a Computer Vision system to prevent fraudulent payouts. Additionally, he researched and developed numerous predictive loan modification models, in the context of defaults & prepayments that were deployed in a complex real-time production environment. Vijay also played a key role in the implementation and integration of diverse solutions across departments that involve structured and unstructured data.
