Build and lead Databricks’ data infrastructure organization in Bengaluru, establishing it as a global center of excellence in infrastructure.
Define and execute a long-term infrastructure vision supporting petabyte-scale data ingestion, billing correctness, and zero-downtime disaster recovery.
Own and evolve business-critical systems operating 24/7 across 100+ regions with stringent reliability and accuracy requirements.
Hire, mentor, and scale high-impact engineering leaders and managers who act as force multipliers across the organization.
Champion infrastructure-as-product thinking by treating internal teams as customers with SLAs, adoption metrics, and feedback loops.
Drive architectural decisions that improve resilience, reduce operational toil, and enable Databricks to scale efficiently and sustainably.
More than 14 years experience in distributed systems engineering while creating large-scale data infrastructure systems.
More than 6 years experience in leading infrastructure organizations and more than 4 years in managing high-impact revenue-critical operations.
Ability to build and manage systems that achieve 99.999% uptime through implementation of SLO/SLI, disaster recovery and monitoring solutions.
Extensive technical knowledge about data pipelines and multi-region system design and reliability engineering and system accuracy verification.
Convert technical investment information into understandable business results which executive stakeholders can comprehend.
Candidates must possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or Engineering or a related field.
MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science or Engineering.
Candidates must have experience with Apache Spark and Delta Lake.
Maintaining operational capacity and performance benchmarks.
Created successful teams that maintain high employee retention through their work on complex distributed systems challenges which require advanced engineering skills.
