Quordle challenges players to solve four five-letter words in nine shared attempts
Every guess affects all grids, demanding careful planning and accuracy
Today’s puzzle rewards logical deduction over speed
Quordle is the result of game designers taking the familiar elements of popular word-guessing games and opting to scale those elements upwards into a much more challenging activity.
Today’s puzzle provides players with four new words that they have to solve within nine tries. Quordle takes Wordle’s formula and increases the difficulty by limiting guessing attempts and increasing the terms that a solver has to find.
Before delving into today’s solution, it would be helpful to understand how Quordle uses a color-coded response system
Green tiles indicate the correct letter in the correct position
Yellow tiles mean the letter appears in the word, but is misplaced
White tiles show the letter does not appear in the word at all
However, these mechanics may appear intimidating to beginners. It may be highly beneficial to work out these sample puzzles beforehand before attempting the daily challenge.
Below are the hints for today’s four words:
Word 1 (Top Left): Condescendingly boasting about an achievement
Word 2 (Top Right): Grip tightly
Word 3 (Bottom Left): How old America is, perhaps
Word 4 (Bottom Right): a drum or an antelope
Additional hints:
One word contains a pair of repeated letters.
The solutions today are the letters G, C, U, and B.
GLOAT: To boast smugly or complacently about a successful outcome
CLASP: To grip or to hold tightly
USAGE: Refers to the use of something; also refers to age
BONGO: a sort of drum, and an African antelope
Quordle continues to be a daily challenge of logic, language, and control. Some days, the solutions will reveal themselves with ruthless precision, while others require triumph through the last drop of drippy deduction on the last guess. Either way, the daily puzzle requires an awful lot of flexibility. If you missed the puzzle today, that’s okay; another grid awaits tomorrow!
