Aeon Pro combines Hall Effect sticks, mechanical switches, modular controls and an OLED display.
It supports Xbox through the base station, while PC and mobile can connect through supported wireless options.
Two batteries enable continuous play by charging one battery while the other powers the controller.
SteelSeries entered the premium gaming controller segment with the Aeon Pro, a wireless controller designed primarily for Xbox and PC gamers. Its key feature is a QuickSwitch Dock System that keeps the controller connected to both platforms, allowing users to switch between them without re-pairing or reconnecting cables. The controller also introduces hot-swappable batteries, Hall Effect thumbsticks, an OLED display and extensive customisation options.
The SteelSeries Aeon Pro launched on September 8, 2026. It is available in black and white, with an official MSRP of USD 259.99 in North America, £229.99 in the UK, €259.99 in EMEA and USD 259.99 in APAC. It is sold through SteelSeries and select retailers worldwide.
At USD 259.99, the Aeon Pro sits firmly in the premium controller category. Its pricing reflects the included dock, dual-battery system and extensive hardware customisation.

The Aeon Pro uses Hall Effect thumbsticks with contactless sensors, which are designed to avoid the sensor wear associated with conventional potentiometer sticks. SteelSeries also equips the controller with 18 mechanical switches for tactile inputs.
The triggers support two modes. Users can switch between full travel and a shorter hair-trigger mode, allowing faster actuation in games where rapid inputs matter. Four contoured rear paddles can also be remapped for additional controls.
SteelSeries includes a Modular Stick System with interchangeable concave, convex, standard and long options. The controller has a textured wrap-around grip intended to provide a secure hold during extended gaming sessions.
Battery management is one of the Aeon Pro's defining features. The controller ships with two removable batteries. While one powers the controller, the other can charge in the dock. Users can then swap batteries instead of waiting for the controller itself to recharge. SteelSeries calls this the Infinite Power System. The batteries are also compatible with the Arctis Nova Pro, Nova Pro Omni and Nova Elite headsets.
SteelSeries rates each charge for up to 12.5 hours when a headset is plugged into the controller or when it is connected to Xbox. On PC without a connected headset, the figure is 11.5 hours, while Bluetooth use is rated at up to 14 hours.
The Aeon Pro supports Xbox, PC and mobile devices. Xbox connectivity requires the included base station. On PC, users can connect through the base station or Bluetooth, while mobile gaming works through Bluetooth. The controller can also connect directly to a PC using a USB-C to USB-A cable.
On PC, the controller can reach a 1000Hz polling rate over wired or wireless connections. Xbox operation is limited to 250Hz.
An onboard OLED Smart Display lets users switch devices, select profiles, remap buttons and check battery levels without relying on a separate computer. More advanced adjustments are available through SteelSeries GG software on PC.
GG allows users to fine-tune buttons, triggers, profiles, stick sensitivity and dead zones. Rumble intensity and other settings can also be adjusted, with profiles saved to the controller.
The Aeon Pro is aimed at players who want more than a conventional wireless controller. Its dual-platform dock, interchangeable batteries, Hall Effect sticks, mechanical switches, rear paddles and OLED controls make it a feature-heavy option for Xbox and PC gaming.
However, its USD 259.99 price makes it a significant investment. Buyers who regularly move between Xbox and PC are likely to benefit most from the QuickSwitch system and dual-battery setup. For players who use a single platform, the premium may be harder to justify.
