GTA 6 will support Xbox Cloud Gaming on Xbox Series S/X. However, the expected PC cloud surprise is not happening. Microsoft has confirmed its deal with Rockstar, along with the announcement that it’s not an exclusive one. Looking at the rumors about the PC streaming of GTA 6, Xbox chief strategy officer Matthew Ball confirmed in an X post saying, “While the excitement for GTAVI and Xbox is great to see, it has also led to some misreporting. We are looking forward to launching GTAVI on Xbox November 19, though the game will not be streaming exclusively or to PC.”
The game will probably stream on other devices, possibly on Sony's PS5 and PlayStation Portal, considering Xbox's streaming agreement is non-exclusive. Additionally, Ball’s statement confirmed that the origin of the rumors where Xbox CEO Asha Sharma mentioned that Microsoft was getting ready to do something around Grand Theft Auto 6 that “no other platform holder is doing,” was pointed toward Rockstar deal and no PC streaming.
The GTA 6 news comes as Microsoft prepares a new way to use Xbox Cloud Gaming. From November, players will be able to pay for cloud playtime without having a Game Pass subscription. They can stream some games they own instead of paying for a monthly Game Pass plan.
Game Pass users will also get set cloud limits: Ultimate members will have 15 hours each month, while Premium members will get 10 hours, and Essential members will get five hours. Players can pay for more time after reaching their limit.

GTA 6 could give Microsoft a strong test for this new model. It is one of the biggest games coming this year. Many players may want to play it without buying an Xbox Series X or S.
The bigger question is whether they will pay by the hour. Game Pass has made a monthly fee feel normal for many Xbox users. Cloud gaming by the hour is a different idea. GTA 6 could be the game that shows whether players are willing to pay more for that kind of access.
Microsoft still has a big chance to use GTA 6 to popularize cloud gaming. However, the deal is not exclusive, and PC streaming is off the table for now. The real test will be whether players see enough value in paying for cloud playtime.
