Shanghai-based studio Ultizero Games is making its debut in the gaming industry with Lost Soul Aside. This highly anticipated action-adventure RPG was shown for the first time at PlayStation’s latest State of Play event. At present, it is set to launch on May 30, 2025, on PlayStation 5 and PC. This release will show the gaming world the dedication of a solo developer, Yang Bing, who’s been working on this game since 2016.
The journey of Lost Soul Aside started almost a decade back. The journey was lengthy, but it demonstrates the developer’s passion and perseverance. Taking inspiration from some of the most iconic RPG titles like Devil May Cry and Final Fantasy XV, Yang Bing started his mission of combining fast-paced combat with a rich narrative in his upcoming project. This project started gaining attention over time and received support from Sony's China Hero Project. It was basically an initiative aimed at assisting Chinese developers in bringing their games to a global audience.
As the trailer reveals, Lost Soul Aside offers a dynamic combat mechanism emphasizing fluidity and battle style. In this game, players will take on the role of the protagonist, Kaser, a great fighter with a unique shape-shifting weapon. The greatest advantage of employing this weapon is that it can accommodate multiple fighting styles perfectly.
Whether one prefers precise melee attacks, high-speed mobility, or deadly ranged assaults, this upcoming indie game offers everything. Apart from that, one outstanding feature is Kaser's dragon-like companion, Arena, who can take various forms. Various means literally anything, from wings to hoverboards, significantly enhancing both combat and traversal in the game.
Aside from that, the upcoming game allows players to launch lightning-fast combos, unlock new abilities as they progress, and upgrade weapons to take down the colossal bosses. As the State of Play trailer shows, boss battles, like the fight with towering dragons, require players to master aerial dodges, back-to-back strikes, and timed counterattacks. As they appear in the trailer, these encounters will be cinematic and adrenaline-pumping experiences.
The story of Lost Soul Aside is about Kaser and his quest for self-discovery. While the players keep playing through the game's primary storyline, they will ultimately discover the truth about their dragon-like friend, Arena.

The game is still a few steps away, but the pre-order will start on February 19, 2025. PlayStation and PC players both will have this advantage. Of course, some pre-order bonuses include Kaser's original outfit, a pack of in-game currency, and a bundle of healing potions.
