In the massively crowded world of action role-playing games, Warhorse Studios is all set to enter with Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, a highly anticipated sequel to 2018’s Kingdom Come: Deliverance. As the release date draws closer, the developer team has started clearing out its views on the future of this game with a roadmap.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is coming this February. As the release date gets closer, the curiosity of fans gets higher. One specific reason behind it is the massive success of its predecessor. Going through the Metacritic review of the game reveals that it is standing at a score of 8.1 based on around 3500 ratings. That’s indeed impressive and the biggest reason gamers wait for the sequel.
The upcoming sequel to the game will continue the same story rather than introduce something new. So, once the game releases, players will be able to continue Henry’s story further from where it ended in the first part.
Set amidst the chaos of the Civil War in 15th-century Bohemia, this story will again let players take the role of Henry of Skalitz, who’s an ordinary man but gets involved in extraordinary matters. The game will show the enticing journey of him trapping in a loop of revenge, betrayal, and discovery to search for a purpose in that brutal world.
Whenever a game looks promising, gamers jump to ask for more content. It’s the same with Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. As gamers start asking for more content, Warhorse Studios arrives with a post-launch roadmap that includes content to be added to the game during the spring, along with some DLC packs.
The post-launch free content will add a new Hardcore Mode for veterans, challenging gamers thoroughly during their journey. It will also bring horse racing for sports and the Barber feature to customize the protagonist’s look, followed by three paid DLCs.
Once players get these free things during Spring, Summer will bring Brushes with Death DLC for them. Not much is known about this DLC, but it looks like it will take Henry to rescue one artist with a painted skull in his hand. The tagline of the DLC says, “Help a mysterious artist with an enigmatic past.”
The second DLC will arrive in autumn and will be named Legacy of the Forge. Once again, there’s not much revealed about this DLC, but it seems like it will take players to explore the legacy of Martin, who was the adoptive father of Henry. The caption of this DLC reads, “Restore Kuttenberg’s Forge and become a master blacksmith.”
The third DLC that will come during the winter is named Mysteria Ecclesiae. This DLC will revolve around Henry exploring the Sedlec Monastery and completing his mission of understanding the complex dynamics of the area to stop one spreading disease. The caption of this DLC says, “Explore Sedlec Monastery to stop the spread of a deadly illness.”
From the roadmap, it is clear that Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will not be abandoned after its initial release in February. The developer team has prepared an entire year of content to prevent the players from losing interest.
Additionally, Warhorse Studios has promised to bring more free content as each expansion rolls out. At this point, each of these expansions needs to be purchased separately, but later, all of them will be included in the Expansion Pass so that players can acquire them all at once.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will hit PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on the day of launch. However, there’s no news of it releasing on Nintendo Switch.
