Samsung has officially started rolling out the One UI 8.5 beta 3 update for the Galaxy S25 series. The update is based on Android 16 QPR2 and targets users who joined the beta program. The rollout has begun in select markets, including South Korea and the United States, with more regions expected to follow soon.

This beta update focuses on system stability and smooth performance. The company aims to polish the software before the final release. The update is available for Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra users.

Bug Fixes and Performance Improvements

The One UI 8.5 beta 3 update fixes several common issues. Users earlier reported lock screen clock glitches. Samsung has now addressed those problems. The update also fixes issues with favourites inside the Phone app. Another bug prevented the Now Briefing feature from appearing. That issue also sees a fix.

Gallery performance has improved with this update. Live Effects now work more smoothly. The update also reduces battery drain caused by certain apps. This change helps improve daily usage time. Samsung has also improved the visibility of the search option on the widget selection screen. These changes may seem small, but they improve everyday use.

Security Patch and Regional Rollout

Samsung has bundled the January 2026 security patch with this beta update. The company has not shared full details about the security fixes. Still, the update brings the latest protection against known threats. Security updates remain an important part of every One UI release.

Beta testers in regions like India may notice different version labels. While this is the third beta globally, some markets treat it as a second beta. Samsung started the beta program later in those regions. More countries should receive the update in the coming days.

Stable Release Timeline and Eligible Devices

Samsung plans to launch the stable One UI 8.5 release with the upcoming Galaxy S26 series. Reports suggest a launch date of February 25, 2026. After the Galaxy S26 debut, Samsung will roll out the update to older devices. The wider rollout may happen between March and June 2026.

The list of eligible devices is long. The Galaxy S lineup includes the S26 series, S25, S24, S23, and S22 models. The Galaxy S21 FE also qualifies. Samsung’s foldable phones are also part of the update plan. These include Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip models from recent generations.

Mid-range users also receive support. Many Galaxy A series phones qualify for One UI 8.5. The update also covers Galaxy M and Galaxy F series devices. Samsung has not ignored tablets either. The update will reach Galaxy Tab S models and select Galaxy Tab A devices.

The One UI 8.5 beta 3 update shows Samsung’s focus on refinement. The company is improving performance before the final release. Users can expect a more stable experience once the stable update arrives.
