Tech Giant Microsoft to Open its Largest Data Center in Hyderabad

Microsoft to utilize the full potential of India's growing digital working ecosystem

Microsoft has been at the forefront of technological innovations in the modern tech industry. The company has massively invested in AI, championed bots to enter the new computing paradigm. The company's advancement in technological innovation is witnessed all across the globe. Recently, the software giant announced its plans to establish the largest data center in India in Hyderabad. The company aims to tap into the growing digital market in Hyderabad where more and more businesses are adopting new-age technologies like AI and cloud, every other day. Over the next 15 years, the multinational company will invest INR 15,000 crore into the new data center, spread across three sites, namely Chandanvelly, Ellikatta, and Kottur.

The Hyderabad data center region is another addition to the existing network of three regions in India across Pune, Mumbai, and Chennai, which have been operational for more than five years. Microsoft said that the strategic investment is aligned with its commitment to help customers thrive in a cloud and AI-enabled digital economy and will be a part of the world's largest cloud infrastructure. 

Demand for the cloud as a platform for digital transformation is increasing across tech-driven cities in India. Microsoft said it expects to make the data center at Hyderabad operational by 2025. It will offer the entire Microsoft portfolio across the cloud, data solutions, artificial intelligence, productivity tools, and customer relationship management with advanced security measures for enterprises, startups, developers, education, and governmental institutions. 

India's huge data-consuming population will be highly benefitted by the inauguration of the Microsoft data center since it will also make India's cloud transformation much more efficient and seamless.
