Edel Finance vs. Coinbase vs. Robinhood: Which Platform Is Best For Tokenized Stocks?

Traders looking for the best place to buy tokenized stocks have a wide selection of platforms to choose from. Coinbase, the largest US-based crypto exchange, has recently entered the tokenized RWA market. Robinhood has allowed EU customers to trade tokenized U.S. stocks since June. Meanwhile, Edel Finance launched the testnet for its on-chain infrastructure supporting the lending and collateralization of crypto stocks.

Edel’s case is one of the industry’s main highlights. The platform’s testnet reached its initial 1,500-user limit almost immediately after launch. The team raised the limit to 5,000 users to meet increased demand for its innovative services.

Edel Finance - The New Face in the Market

A growing number of established crypto exchanges are entering the market of tokenized real-world assets. These platforms will operate as custodians of crypto stocks. They will allow users to buy and sell on-chain representations of traditional stocks from major companies, including NVIDIA, Meta, Apple, Tesla, Alibaba, etc.

Edel Finance enters the market to provide even more tools to crypto stock buyers. The platform allows users to lend their idle tokenized equities and earn yield without selling them. Alternatively, they can use their holdings as collateral to borrow stable assets, diversify their portfolios, and expand their trading options.

According to the official Edel Finance documentation, the platform is a non-custodial service provider. It is an open securities lending market where users can maximize gains on tokenized equities issued by a third-party provider, such as Coinbase. Edel provides the lending and risk-management layer on top of existing issuance rails with transparent interest rates determined by supply/demand and real-time price updates.

Edel’s CEO, Andrés Soltermann, commented on the platform’s role in the market:

"Tokenized stocks solve the problem of access, but access alone does not create a functioning market. Without lending, borrowing, and short-selling infrastructure, tokenized equities remain static representations rather than productive financial instruments. Real markets require capital efficiency, liquidity, and risk management, and that is the gap Edel is built to address.”

Edel users can purchase on-chain representations of real-world stocks with the platform’s native $EDEL token or bETH.

The Edel Finance ecosystem aims to expand into a global ecosystem where equities can move, generate yield, and be financed with the same efficiency as modern digital assets, while retaining real-world economic grounding.

From Crypto to an Everything Exchange

Coinbase’s expansion to allow users to trade tokenized real-world assets is no surprise to industry insiders. Max Branzburg, Coinbase’s head of consumer and business products, commented on the company’s new strategy:

"We aim to offer the greatest variety of contracts available on one platform. We expect existing customers will bring all of their assets under one roof, while we reach a new subset of consumers."

In its bid to become an everything exchange, the company is adding stock trading and prediction markets through a partnership with Kalshi, a regulated American exchange and prediction market. Coinbase’s partner list is poised to grow as the exchange targets dominance in prediction markets, which currently generate nearly $2 billion in revenue.

US Stocks for EU Traders

In June 2025, Robinhood launched US stock and ETF tokens in the EU, giving eligible customers exposure to 200+ US equities with zero commissions or added spreads, dividend support, and 24/5 access. The US-based crypto exchange has been eyeing new markets for quite some time, forecasting that eventually every asset will undergo tokenization.

Johann Kerbrat, Robinhood’s GM and SVP, commented on the new product launch:

“We’re onboarding the world to crypto by making it as easy to use as possible with the goal of bringing powerful tools into one intuitive platform.”

Robinhood’s move aligns with the recent expansion of other crypto giants, including Gemini and Kraken, into the tokenized RWA market, which analysts expect to increase by 500% by 2030.

Which Platform Is Best For Crypto Stocks?

Robinhood’s offer of tokenized equities is exclusively to EU users, limiting access and liquidity. Coinbase’s recent expansion to include crypto stocks and event contracts is good for the market. However, its implementation and additional integrations will take time.

Meanwhile, Edel Finance offers a low-entry point into the tokenized RWA market. The platform allows TradFi users worldwide to enhance their portfolios with crypto tokens bearing the familiar faces of traditional stocks. Traders of all skill levels can build their gains with easy lending and collateralization of on-chain securities.
