Kei Uruma was born on July 27, 1959, in Japan. He pursued higher education at Waseda University, one of Japan’s most prestigious institutions, graduating in March 1982 with a degree from the Faculty of Commerce. This academic training provided him with a strong foundation in business and management principles, which played a crucial role in shaping his strategic mindset and leadership abilities. Immediately after graduation, he joined Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, marking the beginning of a distinguished career in corporate leadership.
Kei began his career at Mitsubishi Electric after graduating in 1982. Over the years, he held key roles in factory automation, corporate strategy, and international operations, especially in Europe. His leadership as Executive Officer and head of Public Utility Systems positioned him as a forward-thinking strategist. Later, he led the Corporate Strategic Planning Division. In 2021, Uruma was appointed President and CEO, taking on the responsibility of shaping the company’s future on a global stage.
