Anthropic has officially opened its second Asian office in Bengaluru after Tokyo. The move shows the company’s strong focus on the Indian market. The launch comes just days before the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi. The timing highlights India’s rising role in global artificial intelligence.

India Becomes a Key Market for Claude AI

India is now the second-largest market for Claude AI. Many users in India use Claude for coding and math-related work. Developers rely on it to build apps and launch software. The company said its revenue in India has doubled since October 2025.

Irina Ghose leads the new Bengaluru office as Managing Director. She said India offers strong tech talent and large-scale digital systems. The company plans to hire people in engineering, research, sales, and operations. The focus remains on building safe and responsible AI.

Major Partnerships Across Industries

Anthropic also announced several AI partnerships in India. Air India uses Claude Code to speed up software development. CRED uses Claude to launch features faster. Cognizant plans to offer Claude to 350,000 employees worldwide. Razorpay has added AI tools across its services.

A startup named Emergent built its entire platform using Claude AI. It reached $25 million in yearly revenue in less than five months.

Education is another key focus. Pratham is testing its Anytime Testing Machine powered by Claude with 1,500 students in 20 schools. The program may expand to 100 schools by late 2026. Central Square Foundation is working with Anthropic to build AI learning tools for children from underserved communities.

Focus on Language, Agriculture, and Social Impact

Language support also plays a big role. Claude AI is improving in Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Telugu, Tamil, Punjabi, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, and Urdu. Anthropic is working with Karya and the Collective Intelligence Project to test AI in farming and legal work. It is also partnering with Digital Green and Adalat AI.

Agriculture makes up nearly one-sixth of India’s economy. Anthropic is working with the EkStep Foundation to explore how AI can support farmers and improve crop management.

The Anthropic India office signals a long-term plan. Claude AI aims to grow in enterprise, education, and agriculture. As India prepares for the India AI Impact Summit, Bengaluru now stands at the center of this AI expansion.
