The recently concluded WWDC 2026 featured several announcements related to Apple Intelligence, Siri AI, parental controls, and software updates. While developers were trying out the first iOS 27 beta, some features were apparently hidden and never announced during the keynote presentation. Although these features may not necessarily catch users' attention, they can improve the everyday experience.

Three iOS 27 Features Apple Did Not Reveal at WWDC 2026

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman wrote in his Power On newsletter, “Apple showed roughly 57 of the approximately 60 features he had previewed ahead of WWDC 2026. The three that were conspicuously absent: a new Modular watch face for Apple Watch, a fully customizable Camera app, and Siri Extensions, the framework that would allow third-party AI chatbots beyond ChatGPT to work inside Siri and other Apple Intelligence features.”

One feature was that users could use the same phone number with two iPhones at once. This feature would allow users to make and receive calls and messages on a second iPhone without relying on call forwarding.

Apple did not discuss this feature at WWDC, although it might help people who have both business and personal iPhones or who constantly swap their iPhones.

Independent Alarm Volume Controls

According to reports, Apple will incorporate an independent alarm volume control into the operating system that will not affect ringtone and notification volumes. This will allow the user to use very loud alarms without changing the volume levels of calls or notifications.

The tech giant has quietly added another layer to its Find My system that emphasizes privacy. Users can now hide location data from individuals with whom they have shared it, without automatically notifying the recipient that location services have been switched off.

Why Apple Left Them Out

Apple also focused on parental control and the AI capabilities of the entire system. Several quality-of-life improvements received little attention despite being included in the developer beta.

Even more hidden features were discovered in the following weeks as developers tested iOS 27 ahead of its public release. However, Apple has not yet announced a timeline for adding these features in the iOS 27 update.
