Spider-Man: Brand New Day continues its theatrical run, with Tom Holland returning as Peter Parker and Zendaya as MJ. The movie follows the plot of Spider-Man: No Way Home and moves it four years ahead. Peter now faces life alone after Doctor Strange erased his identity from everyone's memories.
Sony Pictures has currently listed the movie as playing exclusively in theaters and has not revealed its digital premiere timeline. However, sources suggest a digital purchase or rental window during late September or October. Netflix also remains the reported subscription streaming destination after the theatrical window.
Some tracking reports have mentioned September 29 for the digital release, although Sony has not confirmed the news yet. Digital platforms could include Apple TV, Amazon Prime Video, and other major rental stores. A digital release would likely arrive before the Netflix streaming debut.
The reported Netflix window could fall around October or November 2026, depending on Sony's distribution plans. Strong theatrical performance could also push subscription streaming into December or early 2027.
Disney+ does not appear to be the initial streaming destination for the movie. Sony controls the film's distribution, creating a different release path from Disney's directly distributed Marvel titles.
The story continues Peter's struggle after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home. MJ and Ned no longer remember Peter, leaving him without his closest personal connections. Peter avoids revealing his identity while trying to protect those people from further danger.
Destin Daniel Cretton directs Spider-Man: Brand New Day from a screenplay by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. The cast includes Tom Holland, Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon and Jon Bernthal. Mark Ruffalo, Tramell Tillman and Michael Mando also join the cast.
Jon Bernthal returns as Frank Castle, while Mark Ruffalo reprises Bruce Banner. Sadie Sink plays a major new character, although Marvel continues keeping key details under wraps. Michael Mando also returns as Mac Gargan, adding another street-level connection.
For now, the digital release remains the next major milestone for Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Netflix remains the leading reported OTT destination, but the exact streaming date still awaits confirmation.
