Mobile recharges are no longer limited to data and calling benefits. Airtel, Jio and Vi are increasingly bundling OTT subscriptions with select prepaid and postpaid plans, giving users access to platforms such as Amazon Prime, JioHotstar, Netflix and SonyLIV without paying for separate subscriptions.
Airtel offers Amazon Prime with its Rs. 838 and Rs. 1,199 prepaid plans, while its Rs. 1,799 plan includes Netflix Basic. Jio's Rs. 1,028 plan comes with Amazon Prime Lite, while the Rs. 1,299 plan includes Netflix Mobile. Vi's Hero plans starting at Rs. 696 offer benefits including Amazon Prime Lite, JioHotstar or SonyLIV, depending on the pack.
For Amazon Prime Video users, the weekend lineup includes Babita Singh Reporting, The Traitors, Reacher Season 4, Jagamae Sangeetham, Pallaburusu and Awarapan. Regional titles such as The Runner and Nagabandham: The Secret Treasure are also new entrants this week.
JioHotstar has Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu, The Court and Bigg Boss Season 20. The reality show's premiere is scheduled for September 6.
Netflix's current lineup includes Alpha, Gandhari, The Gentlemen Season 2, Operation Safed Sagar: The Untold Story of the Kargil War, Cocktail 2, Newton's 3rd Law and The Whisper Man.
OTT benefits and pricing can vary across telecom circles, so users should check their operator's app before recharging. Subscriptions also generally need to be claimed through the Airtel Thanks, MyJio, or Vi app after the eligible recharge is completed.
