iQOO is all set to bring its next flagship smartphone, the iQOO 16. The company started revealing its design ahead of the launch. The upcoming handset will bring a noticeably different visual identity, led by a holographic rear panel and a redesigned camera module.
The new iQOO 16 will be available in a “Chasing Light” colour option. The key highlight is its holographic rear panel, creating a changing three-dimensional light effect when viewed from different angles.
According to reports, “iQOO developed the finish using laser holographic imaging technology. The process combines multiple precision manufacturing steps to create the shifting visual effect. The rear panel reportedly blends red holographic patterns with flowing blue light, making the finish appear dynamic rather than static.”
The company is also expected to offer other finishes, including Track and Legend, giving buyers alternatives to the more experimental Chasing Light design. The iQOO 16 might feature a square camera island with heavily rounded corners. Three rear cameras sit inside the housing in a connected layout.
While iQOO focused on the phone's design, reports have also pointed to flagship-grade hardware. The iQOO 16 is tipped to feature a 6.85-inch 2K display with a 165Hz refresh rate. It could also use Qualcomm's next-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset.
The iQOO 16 is expected to launch in China later this month. The company is yet to make any official launch details, including pricing and broader market availability.
Experts suggest that you can also get an 8,500mAh battery and a triple rear-camera setup. However, these specifications have not been fully confirmed by iQOO and should be treated as rumours.
