Apple has released iOS 27 Public Beta 3, two weeks after the second public beta. The update gives testers early access to Siri AI, refreshed apps, design controls, and performance changes.

Siri AI leads the release. Meanwhile, the tech giant has updated Safari, Photos, Shortcuts, Screen Time, and the Liquid Glass interface. It plans to release iOS 27 this fall.

iOS 27 Public Beta 3 Reworks Siri

Siri AI can hold conversations. It can also find information within Mail, Messages, Notes, Reminders, Calendar, and Photos. Users can ask follow-up questions without repeating earlier details. Moreover, Siri can read onscreen content and complete tasks across compatible apps.

Apple has added a dedicated Siri app for conversations and access to chats. The company says iCloud privately syncs that history across devices. Siri responses appear through Dynamic Island, while a downward swipe opens the complete exchange.

Visual Intelligence now works through Siri mode in the Camera app. Users can scan a flyer and create a calendar event. Users can turn a membership barcode into a Wallet pass. Additionally, new settings control Siri’s speaking pace and expression.

However, access depends on region, language, and hardware. Apple says Siri AI will support English on Apple Intelligence devices. The feature will not launch immediately on iPhones or iPads in the European Union. Some advanced voice controls require iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, or iPhone Air.

iOS 27 Public Beta 3 Updates Key Apps

Apple Intelligence now supports more functions across system apps. Safari can arrange tabs by topic and group bookmarks with Reading List items. Its Notify Me tool can watch webpages for changes. Meanwhile, natural-language commands can create Safari extensions and build Shortcuts automations.

Photos adds editing options through Clean Up, Extend, and Spatial Reframing. Clean Up removes larger distractions from images. Extend generates content beyond a picture’s edges. Spatial Reframing changes the apparent camera position after capture. Image Playground gains broader creation and editing tools.

Elsewhere, Passwords can replace some weak or compromised passwords automatically. Calendar accepts natural-language instructions for creating and changing events. The Phone app adds Call Context, while Screen Time provides parents with revised limits, schedules, and communication controls. Apple also refined Liquid Glass with clearer edges and adjustable transparency.

A slider under Settings and Appearance changes Liquid Glass from clearer to more tinted. Supported third-party apps can follow that selection. Apple says these changes separate controls from busy backgrounds while retaining the style introduced with iOS 26.

Performance Gains Extend Across Older iPhones

Apple says apps can launch up to 30% faster under iOS 27. AirDrop transfers can run up to 80% faster, while new photos can appear up to 70% faster. The company also revised search tools within Spotlight, Photos, and Mail to improve speed and stability.

The update supports iPhone 11 models and newer devices, plus the second-generation iPhone SE and later versions. Still, Apple Intelligence requires newer hardware. Users can install the beta after joining Apple’s free Beta Software Program and selecting Beta Updates within Software Update.

Apple advises testers to back up their devices before installation. Beta software can contain errors, reduce battery life, or disrupt third-party apps. Apple will continue testing the software before its planned final release during the fall this year.
