GTA 6 is dealing with another leak just months before its planned gameplay showcase on Netflix on August 27, 2026. A cybercriminal group leaked the gameplay videos before this, starting on August 18. As the footage emerged, players initially thought it was fake, but the copyright takedowns have added weight to the incident.
A group called CyberLeek has claimed responsibility for the leak. The incident has also brought Rockstar’s Bengaluru operations into the spotlight. However, there is no confirmed proof that a Rockstar India employee carried out the leak, but it’s definitely someone who has a playable build of the game.
The leak also affected Take-Two Interactive's shares. The stock dropped from around $248 on August 18 to below $233, cutting nearly $2.8 billion from the company’s market value. The fall came as the GTA 6 footage spread across social media. Still, the leak may not be the only reason for the stock move. Share prices can change for many reasons in a single day.
The bigger question now is what Rockstar does next. GTA 6 is currently set to launch on November 19, 2026. Before that, Rockstar is expected to show an official extended look at the game on August 27. This presentation could help the studio regain control of the GTA 6 story. Instead of leaked clips, players will get fresh footage directly from Rockstar.
For Take-Two, keeping the launch on schedule will be important. GTA 6 is one of the company’s biggest upcoming games. Any delay could create a much bigger concern for investors.

The recent fall in Take-Two’s value may look worrying, but it does not mean the GTA 6 launch is in trouble. Investors will likely watch Rockstar’s August 27 showcase, future game updates, and plans for the November launch. If everything stays on track, the leak could turn out to be a short-term problem rather than a lasting hit.
