Google is bringing Fitbit Air to India on October 2 at Rs. 13,999, targeting quieter health tracking. The screenless wearable weighs 12g with its band and tracks heart rate, sleep, SpO2 and heart rhythm through the Google Health app. The device avoids wrist notifications and sends detailed readings to a connected phone instead.

Fitbit Air arrives through the Google Store and retail partners in India, with Obsidian, Berry, Lavender and Fog options. Google designed the tracker for continuous wear, especially overnight, while its battery lasts up to seven days. A five-minute charge can provide one day of power, helping maintain sleep tracking.

The wearable focuses on health data rather than smartwatch functions. It monitors heart rate throughout the day and tracks resting heart rate and heart rate variability. Heart rhythm monitoring can provide Afib alerts, while SpO2 and sleep stages add further health information.

Sleep forms a central part of Fitbit Air’s design. Its small, screenless body removes the need to check notifications during the night. The Google Health app displays sleep duration, stages and related trends after data syncs from the tracker.

Google also connects Fitbit Air with Google Health Coach for personalized guidance. The coach uses health and activity trends to provide recommendations through the app. A three-month Google Health Premium trial comes with the tracker and unlocks Health Coach features.

Fitbit Air also supports automatic workout detection through the Google Health app. Common activities receive automatic tracking, while workouts can start from the app or get logged manually. Google says detection becomes more personalized as the tracker gathers activity data.

The Performance Loop Band comes with Fitbit Air and uses recycled materials for a breathable fit. Google also offers Active and Elevated Modern bands for workout and everyday styles. The pebble can switch between compatible bands without replacing the tracker.

Google describes Fitbit Air as a ‘screenless wearable’ designed for comfortable, all-day health monitoring. The phone app remains the main place for detailed health data.

At Rs. 13,999, Fitbit Air enters India as a health-focused wearable rather than a conventional smartwatch. Its screenless design, week-long battery and sleep tracking give the device a distinct focus.
