Apple is reportedly preparing for a big change under CEO John Ternus. Since the new CEO has taken responsibility for the operations of the company, he is trying to shift away from the previous patterns. To be precise, Ternus wants Apple to be more frequent in bringing new products. Additionally, the company may cut some management roles to make the workflow smoother.
Latest reports state that the Cupertino-based tech giant is aiming to break its tradition of launching new products during Spring and Fall. This pattern has been in place for years. Apple already has a number of devices planned for 2027, including camera-equipped AirPods, the company’s first smart glasses, and more. However, according to employees, breaking a long-running tradition takes years.
Additionally, reports stated that the company will focus less on new hirings, as the CEO wants to use the existing man-power to the fullest. This approach is already prominently visible through the smaller job cuts across different teams in recent months. Reportedly, the cuts have affected teams working on Siri, Vision Pro and AI software. Even Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman stated that the company explored the plan to lay off around 5,000 AppleCare customer-service workers during the summer.
Ternus has reportedly supported a smaller company structure for years. His approach is to have fewer managers and ask engineers to take on more work. It is now exploring new ways to generate more money from existing products and offerings. The company has also reduced spending in some areas. The goal is to make teams smaller and help them make decisions faster.

Apple has usually taken its time with new products. Major devices often arrive around its well-known launch events. This gives the company more time to test and polish each product.
Ternus is reportedly looking to change that style. Instead of waiting for a fixed launch window, Apple could release products at different times during the year. The company may also test more ideas and bring new products to customers sooner. However, this won't happen overnight. The company may take years to change its teams and product plans.
