Anthropic has opened applications for the Claude Campus Programme on September 1, 2026, for students worldwide. The Claude Campus Ambassador initiative offers selected participants a USD 3,600 stipend and opportunities to lead AI activities. Applications close on September 12 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time, with the program running through June 2027.
The Claude Campus Program targets undergraduate, graduate, PhD students and postdoctoral researchers seeking practical AI leadership opportunities. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and hold work authorization in their study country. Anthropic will review applications on a rolling basis, while graduate and PhD selections may initially involve fewer institutions.
Undergraduate applicants can lead Claude Builder Clubs and organize workshops, hackathons and demonstration events. The track also provides resources such as API credits and access to Anthropic speaker events. Selected ambassadors receive a USD 3,600 stipend, subject to program terms.
Graduate students in STEM or humanities can lead Claude Campus Conversations focused on AI, education and society. The role includes student discussions, project showcases, networking opportunities and potential Anthropic office visits. The graduate track also carries the same USD 3,600 stipend.
PhD students and postdoctoral researchers using AI in research can lead Claude Science workshops. Participants can build research communities and engage with Anthropic's mathematics and science teams. The track also offers direct interaction with scientists and a USD 3,600 stipend.
Anthropic says applicants need some AI fluency and Claude familiarity, although expert-level knowledge remains unnecessary. For the PhD track, active Claude use in research remains an important requirement. Participation and applications carry no cost for selected candidates.
Charles Zuo, a former ambassador at NYU, said, “The role helped spark meaningful conversations about AI across campus.” The program also gives ambassadors opportunities to share product feedback directly with Anthropic teams.
