Ukraine Plans to Develop Combat Drones to Counter Russia

Ukraine is creating combat drones to counter Russia and protect the country against further losses

The evolution of drones has taken the world by storm. Drones have captured some of the most prevalent parts of society, especially the military sector. Governments have been trying to capitalize on the maximizing advancement of drones to resolve global security turmoil. In the recent Russia and Ukraine war, the former was touted and criticized for turning AI and its related technologies into weapons that can be used against Ukraine. However, recent reports declare that Ukraine is also planning to produce combat drones to counter Russia.

Russia continues to invade Ukraine in an attempt to overthrow the existing government. Over the last several months, the local citizens have been fleeing the land, their homes, to save themselves. But Ukraine has decided to amp up its defense game by introducing combat drones. A top-ranking political expert has described Russia's war against Ukraine as the first major war in the internet age. The expert has credited the use of drones and satellite internet systems like Elon Musk's Starlink to have transformed the manner of the war.

Recently, the Russian government has accused the Ukrainian government to have been carrying out drone attacks on Russian military bases. Even though Ukraine has not formally taken responsibility for these attacks, it has surely made some vague indication of retaliations earlier that are leading experts to believe Ukraine's role behind these combat drone attacks. Besides, Ukraine also has access to Elon Musk's Starlink that is helping the government to maintain communication during conflicts. During the course of the war, cities and towns have been experiencing power cuts lasting upto 10 hours, Elon's Starlink however, is helping Ukraine curate strategies that will help protect the citizens and the country.
