OpenAI via X plans to introduce Advanced Voice Mode to all its Plus subscribers, offering a more engaging and real-time conversation experience. The information leaked indicates that Advanced Voice Mode will start with ChatGPT Plus members, those who pay US$20 a month to access enhanced features like quicker replies and early access to new functionalities.
After its launch, users will be able to access the feature through the ChatGPT app, where they can enable voice input and select from various voice options.
This announcement comes when the competition to develop the most sophisticated chatbot AI is heating up. With major companies like Amazon, Apple, and Google incorporating AI into their voice assistants, OpenAI's Advanced Voice Mode could make ChatGPT stand out as a more adaptable tool. The company is using its AI knowledge to enhance the interaction experience for ChatGPT users.

In his address to students at the University of Texas at Dallas on Monday, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi spoke on the emergence of Artificial Intelligence and its impact on jobs worldwide. He cautioned that Artificial Intelligence is bound to result in job shifts but if these shifts are managed well, they would bring along new opportunities.
Speaking about the impact AI will have, Gandhi said, "If you position yourself properly, AI is an opportunity. If not, you'll be in trouble." He drew an analogy between the present debate over AI with the fears that had been voiced when computers and calculators were introduced.
OpenAI’s official press account on X (formerly Twitter) was hacked by cryptocurrency scammers. On Monday, the hijacked account, identified as OpenAI Newsroom, posted about a counterfeit digital asset known as “$OPENAI.” This incident serves as a stark reminder of the vulnerability of even well-established accounts to cyber threats.
The post declared, “We’re thrilled to introduce $OPEANAI: bridging the gap between AI and blockchain technology.” It continued to state that all OpenAI members had the opportunity to own a portion of the $OPEANAI token, which was allegedly a gateway to upcoming beta programs. However, the token was not real, and the link provided led to a fraudulent website that looked like OpenAI’s real one but had the wrong URL “token-openai.com.”
Nonetheless, the post has since been removed. A link on the fraudulent site encouraged visitors to link their cryptocurrency accounts, likely to obtain their personal information.
The fraudulent post also removed the ability for users to leave comments, making the hack less apparent at first. Even after the initial post, a reply suggested that more details about the nonexistent token would be shared in the coming days.
This incident is not the first time OpenAI accounts have been targeted. In June 2023, the Twitter account of OpenAI’s Chief Technology Officer Mira Murati was compromised, also promoting the fake $OPEANAI token. Similar incidents have occurred in recent months affecting the Twitter accounts of OpenAI’s Chief Scientist Jakub Pachocki and researcher Jason Wei.
