WhatsApp makes it easy to send someone your exact spot. Booking a cab to that same spot is where things get messy. Most people end up typing out the address by hand in Uber or Ola. There is a simpler option. The location shared on WhatsApp can be copied straight into the cab app instead.
Start by tapping the location shared in the WhatsApp chat. On most phones, this opens the spot in Google Maps. Inside Maps, look for the Plus Code, a short string of letters and numbers tied to that exact location. Copy it.
Open Uber and paste the code into the 'Where to?' box. The map will show the pin at that spot. Check it before booking, and move it if needed. This trick helps most when the address has no clear name or when a text search brings up several matching results nearby.
Uber also lets people book rides right inside WhatsApp in some cities. A short chat with Uber's official WhatsApp number allows a rider to share their pickup and drop points and get a fare estimate along with the driver's arrival time. Trip updates then continue in the same chat window.

Ola does not offer a built-in shortcut yet, but the same steps still work. Open the shared location in Maps, copy the Plus Code, and paste it into the Ola app's search field. Always glance at the map pin before confirming, especially for buildings with multiple gates, office parks, or areas that look similar from above.
Small habits like this one save real time on busy days, and as ride apps keep adding chat-based features, booking a cab may soon need nothing more than a shared pin and a few taps.
