US stock futures have risen on Tuesday, October 27, as semiconductor shares advanced and oil prices declined ahead of the Federal Reserve's interest rate decision.

Before the opening bell, S&P 500 futures gained 0.3%, while Dow Jones Industrial Average futures added about 132 points, or 0.3%. Nasdaq-100 futures climbed 0.5%. The gains followed Monday's advance in major U.S. indexes, when technology shares helped lift the Nasdaq.

Chip Stocks Extend Gains on Anthropic Financing

Broadcom rose more than 2% in premarket trading after Bank of America, Citi, Morgan Stanley and Blackstone announced a USD 63 billion financing arrangement involving its technology. The funding will support chips and networking equipment for artificial intelligence company Anthropic, with deliveries expected to begin in 2027.

Other semiconductor stocks also advanced. Micron Technology climbed more than 2%, Advanced Micro Devices gained nearly 2%, and Nvidia rose around 1%. The moves extended Monday's recovery in AI-related shares after Anthropic filed for a Nasdaq listing. Tesla also gained more than 1% in premarket trading following its advance on Monday.

The financing arrangement will use a separate company to purchase Broadcom equipment and lease it to Anthropic. Banks will arrange part of the financing, while Blackstone will provide another portion.

UPS and Boeing Rise After Quarterly Results

UPS shares gained more than 1% after the delivery company reported adjusted third-quarter earnings of USD 1.69 per share on revenue of USD 22.9 billion. Both figures exceeded analyst forecasts of USD 1.63 per share and USD 22.29 billion, respectively.

UPS also raised its 2026 revenue forecast to approximately USD 92.6 billion from USD 91.2 billion. The company projected fourth-quarter revenue of USD 25.7 billion as it prepared for the holiday shipping period.

Boeing added nearly 1% after reporting quarterly revenue of USD 24.19 billion, above forecasts of USD 23.84 billion. However, its adjusted loss of 34 cents per share was wider than the expected 21-cent loss. Meanwhile, Corning advanced nearly 3% after its earnings and revenue exceeded estimates.

Elsewhere, JetBlue jumped more than 11% after the airline projected further margin improvement despite a wider-than-expected quarterly loss. Whirlpool declined about 7% following an unexpected loss. PayPal reported revenue of USD 8.58 billion, below expectations of USD 8.71 billion, although it raised its annual profit forecast.

Oil Prices Retreat Amid Middle East Developments

Oil futures declined as traders followed diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions in the Middle East. U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude fell nearly 1% to around USD 101 per barrel, while Brent crude slipped about 1% to roughly USD 114.

The retreat followed a period of elevated energy prices linked to regional supply concerns. Oil remained above USD 100 per barrel, keeping energy costs in focus for transportation companies, manufacturers and consumers.

Fed Meeting and Durable Goods Data Draw Attention

The Federal Reserve began its two-day monetary policy meeting Tuesday and will announce its decision Wednesday, October 28. Economists broadly expect policymakers to leave rates unchanged, with investors examining the statement for information about potential increases before year-end.

Meanwhile, U.S. durable goods orders increased 1.8% in September, compared with a 0.1% rise in August. The increase exceeded the 1.7% forecast. Excluding transportation, orders grew 0.5%, while orders excluding defense increased 2.2%.

The economic calendar also includes consumer confidence and new home sales figures on Tuesday. Later this week, investors will receive third-quarter GDP data and inflation figures measured by the personal consumption expenditures index.

Asian Stocks Climb While European Markets Weaken

Major Asian stock indexes finished mostly higher. Japan's Nikkei 225 gained 1.73%, South Korea's Kospi rose 3.09%, and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 added 0.46%. China's CSI 300, however, declined 1.32%.

European shares traded lower during the morning session. The Stoxx 600 fell 0.35%, while Britain's FTSE 100 lost 0.99%. France's CAC 40 and Germany's DAX also declined as U.S. traders prepared for another session of earnings releases and economic data.
