Samsung vs TCS: Which is the Best Option for Female AI Engineers in 2023?

It is Samsung vs TCS when it comes to choosing the best firm for Female AI Engineers

It is Samsung vs TCS when it comes to choosing the best option for female AI engineers as both firms are the best employers for women in the nation.

In data and AI, engineering, and cloud computing, women make up just 32%, 20%, and 14%, respectively, of the overall workforce, according to the World Economic Forum's Global Gender Gap Report. Young, brilliant women are frequently discouraged from pursuing STEM-related education. Reading about women who have cracked the glass ceiling and taken on demanding tasks like data scientists, female AI engineers in 2023, and machine learning engineers is a terrific approach to inspire young girls to work in this field. Samsung and TCS are the best employers when it is to hiring women without any gender bias in the firm.

Samsung

The leading consumer electronics company in India, Samsung, plans to employ over 1,000 engineers for its R&D centers there, including Samsung R&D Institutes in Bangalore, Noida, Delhi, and Bengaluru, as well as Samsung Semiconductor India Research.

These young engineers will start in 2023 and work on cutting-edge technologies like System on a Chip (SoC), Communication Networks, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Image Processing, IoT, Connectivity, Cloud, Big Data, Business Intelligence, Predictive Analysis, and Storage Solutions.

Samsung will hire engineers from a variety of fields, including Information Technology, Electronics, Instrumentation, Embedded Systems, Computer Science, and associated departments (AI/ML/Computer Vision/VLSI, etc.). Additionally, it will be hiring from fields like software engineering and mathematics & computing.

"Samsung's R&D centers want to hire new talent from India's top engineering institutes who will work on ground-breaking innovations, technologies, products, and designs, including India-centric innovations that enrich people's lives, as they sharpen their focus on innovation and cutting-edge technology", says Sameer Wadhwan Head of Human Resources at Samsung India. This will advance the company's goal of "Powering Digital India."

Around 200 engineers from leading IITs, including IIT Madras, IIT Delhi, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Bombay, IIT Roorkee, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Kanpur, IIT Guwahati, and IIT BHU, will be hired by Samsung R&D centers during this hiring season. Additionally, they have given more than 400 Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs) to students at the IITs and other prestigious universities.

Over 7,500 patent applications have been made by Samsung research facilities in India, covering topics such as multi-camera systems, TVs, digital apps, 5G and 6G networks, and ultra-wideband wireless communication protocol. Many of these patents have found use in products like the flagship Galaxy smartphones from Samsung, wearables, networking hardware, and software, among other things.

The Samsung R&D facilities in India have developed a strong culture of patent submission over time. For instance, a sizable portion of patent applicants at the Samsung R&D Institute in Bangalore are first-time creators in cutting-edge fields including 5G, AI, ML, IoT, and camera & vision technologies. With this, the R&D center has become India's top patent filer for ideas created in India and initially submitted there. It has also received the National IP Award for 2021 and 2022.
