Shemaroo Entertainment Appoints Ashish Gupta as Chief Financial Officer

Shemaroo Entertainment Ltd. today announced the appointment of Ashish Gupta as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Ashish succeeds Amit Haria, who is stepping down after 19 years with Shemaroo to pursue his personal ambitions. During his long tenure with Shemaroo Entertainment, Amit played a significant role in overseeing the company’s financial and business affairs. He was closely involved in strategic and financial planning, while also helping shape several major milestones, including the successful listing of Shemaroo’s IPO in 2014. As a core member of the executive leadership team, Amit played an important part in strengthening the company’s financial processes and long-term business planning.

In his new role, Ashish will lead the financial and business affairs of Shemaroo. He brings with him over 24 years of extensive experience across finance leadership, business transformation, strategic planning, and operational excellence across industries including Media & Entertainment, Healthcare, Security Services, Travel, Education, and IT & ITES.

Prior to joining Shemaroo Entertainment, Ashish served as CFO at BARC India, where he was instrumental in strengthening governance, leading automation initiatives, and enhancing operational efficiencies. Over the course of his career, he has also held senior leadership positions at International SOS, Quatrro, and Kuoni Travels.

A qualified Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and a Commerce graduate from Delhi University, Ashish has worked across India, Singapore, Korea, and Hong Kong, bringing strong global and multicultural leadership experience. He is widely recognized for his expertise in business partnering, financial strategy, process transformation, profitability enhancement, treasury management, and building high-performing teams.
