The New Fitbit Edge Leaks: What You Need to Know

Fitbit Edge Leaks: What We Know

Google's rumored Fitbit Edge has appeared in leaked images, revealing a fitness tracker that could sit between Fitbit's minimalist Air and Google's Pixel Watch. The device reportedly targets users who want fitness features without committing to a full smartwatch.

A New Midrange Fitbit

The Fitbit Edge is reportedly positioned as a successor to the midrange Charge line. Leaked images show a compact design with a small display rather than a smartwatch-sized screen. The Charge family was last updated in 2023, making a new model notable.

Small Screen, Useful Widgets

The leaked Edge appears to feature a screen capable of displaying widgets. However, it reportedly will not offer the expansive interface of a traditional smartwatch. That could make it a middle ground between a basic fitness tracker and a feature-heavy wearable.

Seven-Day Battery Life?

One of the most interesting leaked claims is a battery life of up to seven days. The tracker is also reportedly expected to include built-in GPS and an altimeter. These features could make it substantially more capable than the Fitbit Air.

Limited App Support

The Edge reportedly could support selected applications such as Google Maps and YouTube Music. That would give users some smartwatch-style convenience without turning the device into a full smartwatch. The exact app ecosystem remains unclear because Google has not officially confirmed the product.

Price Could Hit the Sweet Spot

There is no confirmed Fitbit Edge price yet, but The Verge estimates a potential range of around $150 to $200. That would place it above the $99.99 Fitbit Air while remaining well below the $399.99 Pixel Watch.

Leak or Next Fitbit Hit?

The Fitbit Edge remains an unconfirmed product, so its final specifications, pricing and launch date could change. If the leaked features are accurate, however, Google may be preparing a compelling middle option for fitness-focused users who want more than a basic tracker.
