YouTube has added Amazon product tags to Shorts, videos and livestreams for eligible US creators. The update arrived on August 27, 2026, through YouTube's Shopping Affiliate Program. Creators can now connect product recommendations with affiliate earnings directly inside YouTube.

The feature helps creators promote Amazon products through YouTube Studio while viewers discover tagged products during content. Eligible creators need YouTube Partner Program membership and access to YouTube Shopping's affiliate program. An active Amazon Influencer or Associates account also remains necessary for access.

“Amazon is officially part of the YouTube Shopping Affiliate Program!” YouTube Shopping chief Travis Katz said in the announcement. The company highlighted easier product discovery across Shorts, videos and livestreams.

Creators can select products through YouTube Studio's product picker and attach them to eligible content. YouTube also offers optional auto-tagging, which can identify qualifying Amazon products across recent uploads.

The integration changes how creators earn from product recommendations on the platform. Instead of relying mainly on description links, tagged products can connect viewers with purchases more directly.

YouTube will show clicks and estimated earnings through Studio Analytics. Final affiliate payments will move through AdSense under YouTube's existing payment process. Returned products can also reduce the related creator commission.

The Amazon product tags remain limited to eligible US creators at launch. However, viewers outside the US can still see tags, while YouTube may match products with local merchant offers.

The move strengthens YouTube's position in creator commerce as platforms compete for shopping activity. Amazon's marketplace also gains a direct route into creator-led product discovery through YouTube.
