Ripple is adding AI-based security checks to XRP Ledger development as it prepares the network for tokenization, payments, and institutional activity. Meanwhile, the update comes as DTCC moves ahead with tokenization plans and Ripple Prime enters a key part of the U.S. post-trade system.

Ripple Adds AI Security Tools to XRPL

Ripple said XRPL developers are using a more active security process. Specifically, the company said the plan includes AI-assisted testing, a dedicated red team, and stricter checks for code changes and amendments before release.

In addition, Ripple’s Head of Engineering, Ayo Akinyele, said the team will use AI across the XRPL development cycle. Ripple said this work includes code scanning, AI-assisted reviews on pull requests, threat modeling, and checks on how new features work with older parts of the network.

Ripple also said developers will use AI to create edge cases and stress tests that are hard to build by hand. As a result, the company said it can test more scenarios as XRPL grows for “global payments, tokenized assets, and institutional use cases.”

DTCC Expands Tokenization Work

DTCC said in December 2025 that it was working with Digital Asset to tokenize a subset of US Treasury securities held at DTC. At the same time, DTCC said the project was moving toward a minimum viable product in a controlled production setting during the first half of 2026.

Separately, DTCC said DTC was authorized to offer a tokenization service for select DTC-held assets after receiving a no-action letter from the SEC on December 11, 2025. Moreover, DTCC said the service is expected to be ready for production in the second half of 2026.

DTCC’s scale has kept attention on any blockchain network linked to its digital asset work. In June 2025, DTCC said its depository subsidiary had passed $100.3 trillion in assets under custody. Meanwhile, X Finance Bull pointed to patent references tied to XRP Ledger, although DTCC has not said XRP is in live clearing or settlement use.

Ripple Prime Enters the NSCC Directory

Ripple announced in April 2025 that it would acquire Hidden Road for $1.25 billion. According to Ripple, the deal would expand its reach in institutional finance and add a multi-asset prime broker to its business.

Then, on March 2, 2026, Hidden Road, now Ripple Prime, was reported as going live on the NSCC directory. In turn, the move placed Ripple Prime inside a core part of the post-trade system used in US securities markets. Since NSCC is part of DTCC’s market structure, the directory entry has drawn fresh attention in Ripple’s wider institutional push.
