Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 17 series globally in Malaysia on August 18, 2026. The lineup includes Redmi Note 17, Note 17 Pro, and new Pro Max. The latest model leads the range with a teased 10,000mAh battery and 100W charging. Xiaomi is targeting buyers seeking longer battery life within the Redmi Note segment.

The global launch also introduces Pro Max as a new international model with no Chinese counterpart. The company also confirmed a 6.83-inch AMOLED display and 10,000mAh battery for the flagship. The final price and regional availability will soon be revealed. India may receive the lineup later in the year, although Xiaomi has not confirmed dates yet.

Redmi Note 17 is expected to use a Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chipset with a 6.99-inch 120Hz AMOLED display. Reports also point to a 7,700mAh battery, 45W charging, and storage reaching 256GB.

Redmi Note 17 Pro, on the other hand, may run on a Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset and feature a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED panel. Leaks suggest an 8,340mAh silicon-carbon battery, 67W charging, and a 50MP OIS camera. Storage could reach 512GB with up to 12GB RAM.

Lastly, Redmi Note 17 Pro Max may include the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset, a 120Hz AMOLED display, and a 50MP OIS camera. An 8MP ultrawide camera and 32MP selfie camera have also made it to the leaks. The flagship could offer up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage.

Battery remains the biggest talking point, with reports showing different figures. Xiaomi positions the Pro Max with 10,000mAh capacity, while another leak lists 9,210mAh as its typical capacity. Silicon-carbon technology used in these smartphones can increase energy density without adding similar bulk.

The launch puts Redmi against battery-focused rivals and Xiaomi's own POCO X8 series. Final pricing could decide whether the Pro Max gains an edge in the crowded mid-range market.
