TVS Motor Company has named Peyman Kargar as its director and chief executive officer, effective January 27, 2027. Kargar currently serves as president of the company’s international business.
He will succeed K. N. Radhakrishnan, who will stay as director and CEO until the handover date. Radhakrishnan will then serve as a non-executive director until the annual general meeting in July 2027.
The planned transition follows a year of higher sales and revenue for TVS Motor. The company sold 5.9 million vehicles worldwide during the 2025-26 financial year.
TVS Motor also recorded 30% revenue growth during that period. The company now plans to build on this performance across India and overseas markets under Kargar’s leadership.
Chairman Sudarshan Venu described the appointment as an important step for the business. He cited Kargar’s industry knowledge, strategic approach, and understanding of customers across several markets.
“Peyman is an accomplished global leader with deep industry experience, strategic vision and a strong understanding of customers and markets,” Venu said.
Venu also thanked Radhakrishnan for his leadership and service. He said Radhakrishnan helped develop TVS Motor into its current business and provided valuable guidance to the wider TVS group.
Kargar has more than 30 years of experience in the automotive industry. His career covers Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.
He has worked across product development, research, manufacturing, quality, marketing, and sales. That broad background gives him experience across both vehicle production and commercial operations.
Kargar currently leads TVS Motor’s international division. That business contributes 29% of the company’s total sales volume and is growing at 33%, according to TVS Motor.
His current role has placed him at the center of the company’s overseas growth plans. It has also given him direct knowledge of TVS Motor’s products, customers, and market priorities.
TVS Motor said Kargar has already contributed to the international business during his time as president. The company expects him to apply that experience across both domestic and overseas units after he assumes the chief executive role.
“It is a privilege to be appointed as Chief Executive Officer of TVS Motor Company,” Kargar said. He added that the company plans to expand its presence and strengthen its position in India and global markets.
As TVS Motor CEO, Kargar will manage the company’s Indian and international businesses. His priorities will include product innovation, premium vehicles, and further growth in developed markets.
He will also focus on technology, artificial intelligence, product quality, and customer needs. TVS Motor included these areas among the main priorities for its next growth phase.
Meanwhile, Radhakrishnan will oversee the leadership transfer through January 2027. His later move to a non-executive position will provide continuity until the company’s July 2027 annual general meeting.
“It has been a privilege to serve TVS Motor Company as CEO and work alongside an exceptional team,” Radhakrishnan said. He also expressed confidence in Kargar’s ability to lead the company.
The handover sets a clear schedule for TVS Motor’s senior leadership change. Kargar will take full executive responsibility on January 27, while Radhakrishnan will remain connected to the board for several more months.
