

SS Retail will open its initial public offering for subscription on September 16, 2026, as the mobile and electronics retailer seeks to raise about Rs. 500 crore from the public market.
The three-day SS Retail IPO will close on September 18. The company has fixed the price band at Rs. 403 to Rs. 424 per equity share, with a face value of Rs. 10 each.
The offer includes a fresh issue of shares worth Rs. 360.75 crore and an offer for sale worth Rs. 140 crore. Investors can bid for a minimum lot of 35 shares and in multiples of 35 shares after that.
At the upper price of Rs. 424, one lot will cost Rs. 14,840. The issue values SS Retail at about Rs. 3,153 crore at the top end of the price band.
The anchor book will open on September 15, one day before public bidding starts. The company expects to finalise the basis of allotment on September 21. Refunds and share credits to demat accounts are scheduled for September 22.
SS Retail expects its shares to start trading on the BSE and NSE on September 23. Anand Rathi Advisors and Emkay Global Financial Services are managing the IPO.
For the net offer, SS Retail has reserved not more than 50% for qualified institutional buyers. It has set aside not less than 35% for retail investors and not less than 15% for non-institutional investors. The company has also reserved shares worth up to Rs. 12 crore for eligible employees, who will get a Rs. 25 discount per share.
SS Retail plans to use Rs. 241.3 crore from the fresh issue for additional working capital requirements. The company has also earmarked Rs. 12.4 crore for store fit-outs as it expands its retail network during fiscal 2027 and fiscal 2028. It will use the remaining proceeds for general corporate purposes.
The company plans to add stores over the next two financial years. In its red herring prospectus, SS Retail said, “We intend to open 57 new stores in fiscal 2027 and 58 new stores in fiscal 2028.” The company plans to use about Rs. 5.81 crore for stores in fiscal 2027 and Rs. 6.6 crore in fiscal 2028.
SS Retail filed its Red Herring Prospectus dated September 8, 2026, as part of the IPO process. SEBI listed the company's RHP filing on September 9. The offer documents also identify Anand Rathi Advisors and Emkay Global Financial Services as the book-running lead managers.
SS Retail runs a multi-brand retail network that sells mobile phones, accessories and other electronic products. The company operates across Maharashtra, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Goa and Gujarat. As of March 2026, it operated 503 stores, including 458 stores in Maharashtra. Its main retail brands include SS Mobile, xchange Wala and The Mobile Space.
The company identifies itself as the largest mobile phone retail chain in West India and the third-largest in India among its peers. Its listed peers include Aditya Vision, Electronics Mart India, Jay Jalaram Technologies, Fonebox Retail and Umiya Mobile.
For the year ended March 2026, SS Retail reported consolidated revenue of about Rs. 2,352.85 crore and profit after tax of Rs. 59.28 crore. In fiscal 2025, standalone revenue stood at Rs. 1,597.9 crore, while profit reached Rs. 39.86 crore. The SS Retail IPO will move to anchor bidding on September 15 before opening for public subscription on September 16.
