Sony has entered the professional in-ear monitor (IEM) market with the launch of the IER-M500, a wired monitor designed for musicians, live performers, and audio engineers. The new model is built for stage monitoring, offering accurate sound, strong noise isolation, and a secure fit during live performances.

The IER-M500 in-ear monitors have been designed after taking input from monitoring engineers. This product uses a dynamic driver and a larger, sealed acoustic space for clear vocals, high frequencies, and bass response. The thin polyurethane wall is designed to block external noise and help users hear better on stage.

Sony improves comfort by providing four sizes of noise-isolating eartips and flexible ear supporters that help keep the earphones in place during long performances. The IEMs also feature a detachable 1.6-meter cable designed for regular professional use.

IER-M500 is available in Black, Clear, and Red/Blue color options. Sony has priced the earphones at $119.99, making them one of the company's most affordable professional monitoring products. Pre-orders are available, with delivery starting from late August 2026.

With IER-M500, Sony plans to increase its pro audio range that goes beyond studio headsets and microphones for performers and creators requiring in-ear monitoring.
