Samsung has made the Good Lock app available globally with the rollout of One UI 7 based on Android 15. The app was previously limited to select regions and available only via the Galaxy Store; now, it will be available in both Google Play and the Galaxy Store. This further guarantees that users from various countries will use Samsung’s customization tool, enabling more people to improve their Galaxy smartphone experience.
The Samsung community confirmed the update, stating, “One UI 7.0 Good LockNow Good Lock is available in both Play Store and Galaxy Store, and Good Lock supports all countries.” Availability has come a long way since the app's launch nearly a decade ago.
Samsung is also redesigning the Good Lock app's look to allow users to use it more freely and easily. The new interface will also include “My Page, section,” which will be used to handle and reset such customization options easily. Moreover, the app will use filters, allowing users to locate certain modules easily and efficiently.
The new features allow users to customize their home screens with more features. These include free placement of icons and widgets, with an option to disrupt the home screen. Other changes include Home Screen Stickers, a range of pop-up folder configuration scenarios, and new options for Edge Panel customization.
Samsung has also added new game features to Good Lock. Others are Game Booster+ to enhance the gaming experience, a gamepad mapper for key customization, and a GPU load adjuster to modify screen orientation for Vulkan games. LockStar, a module used in the application, has been enhanced to edit the lock screen more efficiently.
The One UI 7.0 update and the redesigned Good Lock app are set to launch in late January 2025, coinciding with the release of the Samsung Galaxy S25 series. The One UI 7.0 beta program began in December 2024 for Galaxy S24 users and has already previewed some upcoming changes.
