OpenAI has rolled out its most advanced artificial intelligence model yet, GPT-5, and CEO Sam Altman has made an interesting prediction. According to him, India could soon surpass the US to become the company’s largest market.

According to reports, Altman plans to visit India next month to discuss the India AI adoption scenario further.
Altman characterized GPT-5 as the firm’s ‘best model yet. ' It is geared to perform well in sophisticated reasoning, coding, and automating. He compared it to ‘asking a real subject expert, even at a PhD level’ for technical, academic, and artistic solutions.
The model is accessible on ChatGPT, even for free users, with a straightforward interface that makes AI open to all at a high level. Three varieties of the API exist for application developers: GPT-5, GPT-5-mini, and GPT-5-nano, thus permitting developers to choose based on performance, speed, and budget. The API variant includes a specialized reasoning model for high-level, complex applications.
One of the most notable enhancements for India is the advanced multilingual capabilities of GPT-5. Nick Turley, ChatGPT’s division head, explained that the model now supports over 12 Indian languages, including several regional languages, and thus will benefit many more people.
