Rockstar Games has announced that Grand Theft Auto VI pre-orders will open on June 25, 2026. Players will be able to reserve the game through digital stores and selected physical retailers.
The company also released the official GTA 6 cover art before pre-orders began. Still, several details remain unclear, including the price, available editions, and possible purchase bonuses.
GTA 6 pre-orders will begin on Thursday, June 25, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Digital listings are expected to appear on the PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store. Rockstar also said selected retailers will accept orders for physical copies. It has not yet published a full list of participating shops.
“Pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto VI will officially begin on June 25 on digital storefronts and at other select retailers,” Rockstar said. The statement confirms the date, although it leaves doubts about regional availability. Some physical stores may not offer the game when orders first open.
Rockstar has also not confirmed whether every edition will become available on the same day. Standard, premium, or collector’s versions have not been formally detailed. Therefore, buyers will need to check official listings on June 25 before choosing a copy.
The official GTA 6 price remains unknown. Reports have discussed possible prices of $79.99 for a standard version and up to $99.99 for an edition containing extra content. Yet Rockstar and publisher Take-Two Interactive have not confirmed either amount.
The company is expected to reveal the retail price when store pages begin accepting orders. It may also announce edition details, pre-order rewards, and payment rules. Until then, claims about a $100 price or GTA Online bonuses remain unverified.
Questions also remain over the third GTA 6 trailer. Some reports suggest Rockstar Games could release more footage after pre-orders begin. Still, the company has not announced a trailer date. A June 25 release is possible, but no official statement currently supports that claim.
Meanwhile, Rockstar has published downloadable cover artwork on its website. The design features the game’s main characters, Jason and Lucia, alongside scenes linked to Vice City and the wider state of Leonida.
Grand Theft Auto VI will launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar has listed that date on the game’s official page. Take-Two has also included the November release in its financial plans.
The game was previously scheduled for May 26, 2026, before Rockstar moved it to November. The company said it needed more development time. Its current marketing material does not mention another change, although no release schedule is fully protected from future revisions.
A PC edition has not been announced. Rockstar followed a console-first release plan with GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2, but that history does not confirm the timing for GTA 6. Claims of a PC launch 12 to 18 months later remain estimates.
The official story follows Jason and Lucia after a failed criminal job places them inside a conspiracy across Leonida. Rockstar says the pair must depend on each other as the situation grows more dangerous. Other claims involving cartels, drug routes, or South America have not received official confirmation.
